According to Wikipedia encyclopedia the dog (Canis lupus familiaris)" is a domesticated subspecies of the gray wolf, a member of the canidae family of the order Carnivora.  The term is used for both feral and pet varieties.  The domestic dog has been one of the most widely kept working and companion animals in human history."

Your dog is a direct descendent of the Asian Gray Wolf and just like the wolf, your dog's mind is hard-wired to know and understand the "pack" life style.  The pack life style is an intricate social hierarchy with each member having a specific position in the pack.  The highest position in the pack is the Alpha (Pack Leader).  The alpha can be either male or female.  The alpha sets the rules, guides and directs the rest of the pack as to where they go and what they do.

It's through the understanding of this complex social hierarchy of the pack, that I have developed what I refer to as Alpha Based, Positive Reinforcement Training.

There are a number of wonderful places to go to have your dog learn how to sit and lay down. However, if you, the dog owner, don't understand or know how to communicate with your dog, all the dog training in the world won't help you.  The only thing you will end up with is a dog that listens to the trainer.
